Graduation Requirements Class of 2017

ALL STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS TO EARN THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA:

Four credits in English
English 1, English 2, English 3, English 4
Four Credits in Mathematics  
Sequence 1-
Algebra 1, Geometry, Math Models, Algebra 2
                                 OR
Sequence 2-
Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus (or Adv. Quantitative Reasoning)
Four Credits in Science
Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and a 4th science course of the students choice
Four Credits in Social Studies
World Geography, World History, US History, Government/Economics
Two Credits of the same Foreign Language
One Credit of Fine Arts
One Credit of Technology
One Credit of PE
.5 credit of Health

.5  Credit of Communication Applications (Speech)
4 credits of Electives

IN ADDITION, ALL STUDENTS MUST PASS THE FOLLOWING STAAR EOC TESTS:

English 1
English 2
Algebra 1
Biology
US History

DAP GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS (DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENT)
In addition to the above listed requirements, students wishing to graduate as a DAP graduate must complete 3 years of a foreign language.  Students must also complete 4 Advanced Measures that can be selected from the following:

1.  Commended or higher score on the PSAT.  This includes selection as a National Hispanic Scholar or National Achievement Scholar based on PSAT results.  (One measure maximum)
2. AP Exam Score of a 3 or higher OR an IB score of a 4 or higher.  (No limit)
3. Earning at least an 80% in a Dual Credit course. Each semester earns one measure. (No limit)
4. Original Research Project. See your counselor for details (Two measures maximum).
